It is not known where these grey-furred Gnolls came from, but they lived chiefly in the burrow of Paw, in South Karana. They are more evolved than their BlackBurrow cousins, and ruled by King Splitpaw. Long ago the SplitPaw gnolls discovered the secret of necromancy, under the direction of Ganix Drah, a very powerful necromancer. Other ranks include Captain, Shaman, and High Shamans. Their logo is a paw with a split or crack through the centre, though it is not known whether this represents anything; perhaps an injury that King Splitpaw suffered?
A splinter faction of SplitPaw Gnolls became influenced by the priests and paladins of Rodcet Nife. When they began to worship this other diety, the king had them locked up in jails deep within Paw, to rot for their sins.
Recently, the Tesche Val Gnolls have invaded Paw, slaughtering most of the SplitPaws. The survivors were either forced to flee or enslaved. SplitPaw Gnolls are now only seen in isolated groups across the Karanas.
