The BlackBurrow Gnolls were brought to life by Brell Serilis, (as presumably were all gnolls), although we don't know where he first seeded them. BlackBurrow Gnolls inhabited the western shore of Antonica long before the Humans created Qeynos. Their main home lies within the deep caverns of BlackBurrow itself, although they can also be seen in the snows of Everfrost, the Qeynos Hills and outside the North Qeynos gates.
Blackburrow Gnolls seem to have no King, but are ruled by Gnoll Commanders and High Shaman, who organise them into Clans and thence into Families. The most famous is the Sabretooth Clan, and the Darkpaw Family. Trannix is a very powerful member of the Darkpaw family, and Fippy, Djerr and Nixx are his brothers. Fippy, of course, is the most loved gnoll in all of Norrrath :)
Gnasher Furgitt is another well-known gnoll. He is the contact man between the Gnolls and the Rogues of Qeynos. They operate a smuggling ring, bringing Blackburrow Stout into the city.
Another gnoll you might encounter is Furball Miller. He was a pup when the Millers of West Karana, a Human family, took him in after his parents were killed by Human hunters. He has a mission in life. "What is it?" you ask? Go and speak to him and find out!
The Mucktail Family were originally Blackburrow Gnolls who for some unknown reason, went east to settle in High Pass. They have the same colouring as Blackburrow Gnolls. In High Pass they fight constant and bloody battles against the Shralok Orcs, despite efforts by the Qeynos guards and Freeport militia to drive out the Mucktails. Probably the most well-known Mucktail is Granix. |
