Inclue! and the man behind the curtain
I wanted to add to my previous post that inclue! is up for sale. If you are interested in the concept of a video/media inbox for Outlook/Express, or “simply” the very sophisticated technology behind the application, then take a closer look. The whole thing is up for sale, server codebase, client codebase, Outlook/Express plugin codebase, user database (no personal information inside), as well as the physical servers in our data center.
Nick Gogerty, Inclue! CEO, has a post on his blog about a potentially powerful video directory within Outlook/Express. Head over there and take a look at his presentation. Talk to Nick if you are interested in a purchase.
Whilst you are over there, take a read through his blog. I sometimes quip that it is a book review site, but his posts and his book reviews are fascinating to read. Nick has his finger on the pulse of world economics, poverty prevention, video media, the internet and science in general. Don’t be put off by that angry photo of him.
Nick is an all round great person and creative thinker whose x-ray vision slips beneath the matrix-reality of modern consumerism, to view what the world is really like and how we should all be thinking globally and beyond our own financial woes. It’s a cliche for sure, but people really are scrabbling for food out there, struggling to survive in tyrannical nations amongst rampant diseases like AIDS. Nick isn’t a Bob Geldof or Bono evangelist however, he is more interested in the non-sexy components of world poverty, like clean water, power, infrastructure.
If you don’t follow his blog, I recommend you do. Sure it may be a little “book-reviewy” but I think we’re going to see Nick making a very positive impact on global issues in the coming decade. I’m proud to call Nick a very good friend.
