A strange sequence of events transpired that resulted in us getting HDTV cable service from Cox for $5/month. Although we have had an HD-enabled TV for a couple of years, we didn’t want to pay the $15-20 per month for HD service. Just before we went on vacation our existing cable-box/DVR broke. When the Cox technician came to replace it, he happened to bring an HD unit. After a discussion about costs he assured us that we could get HD cable for $5. After confirming with Head Office - here we are.

It totally rocks, especially the nature/Discovery channels. Everything is crisp, vivid and full of detail. Normal TV looks fuzzy now.
